The American Institute of Marine Underwriters (AIMU) elected three industry executives to two-year terms as officers at its meeting of the board of directors on November 17.
The officers include E. Anthony Cowie, SVP, Head of Ocean Marine Americas at Swiss Re America, AIMU chair; Sean Dalton, EVP, Head of Marine Underwriting, North America, at Munich Reinsurance America, vice chair; and Karen Griswold, EVP, Head of Ocean Marine Underwriting North America at Chubb, director of finance.
Cowie succeeds Michael Csorba, President, Ocean Marine Division at Great American Insurance, whose two-year term as chairman of AIMU ended after the November 17 annual meeting.
The AIMU board named three volunteers to the AIMU management committee for three-year terms:
- Andrew D’Alessio, Head of Ocean Cargo Americas at AXA XL
- Veronica Lopez, VP, U.S. Marine Hull and Liabilities Manager at Liberty Mutual
- Thomas Nasso, EVP, Head of U.S. Marine at Ascot
The board also named eight individuals as honorary members of AIMU, including seven former chairs of the organization:
- Richard DeSimone (1996–‘98)
- James Zrebiec (1998–2000)
- Deirdre Littlefield (2000–‘02)
- David French (2002–‘04)
- Robert Huffert (2004–‘06)
- Richard Decker (2006–‘08)
- Roger Ablett (2012–‘14)
James Craig, AIMU president from 2003–2013, also was named an honorary member.
