Zelis has expanded its Zelis Advanced Payment Platform (ZAPP) into the property and casualty (P&C) insurance sector through a new partnership with Duck Creek Technologies. The collaboration brings Zelis’ digital payment capabilities to Duck Creek’s ecosystem, introducing a streamlined way for carriers to manage claims and premium disbursements.
The integration places ZAPP within Duck Creek’s Payment Marketplace and Orchestrator. According to the companies, ZAPP serves as a digital connective layer for payment orchestration, enabling carriers to digitise both claims and premium payments. The platform supports multiple payment methods and works within existing IT environments, offering an alternative to traditional paper-based processes that continue to challenge many insurers.
A key feature of the partnership is the reduction in integration timelines. Through Duck Creek’s marketplace framework, carriers can implement ZAPP in an estimated one to two weeks — a significant shift from typical integration periods of nine to 18 months. The companies state that this faster deployment allows organisations to gain control and visibility over payment workflows more quickly, while supporting flexible and secure payment delivery.
The move reflects ongoing demand for modern digital payment solutions in the P&C sector, where organisations are seeking ways to streamline complex disbursement operations and improve the experience for policyholders, providers, and internal teams. Zelis noted that the collaboration aligns with its broader mission to simplify payment ecosystems across healthcare and insurance.
Zelis president of payments optimisation Yusuf Qasim said, “By teaming up with Duck Creek, we’re making it easier for property and casualty insurers to handle claims and premium payments more efficiently. This partnership is a testament to our growing commitment to supporting the P&C industry in a deeper way. We’re combining our experience in simplifying complex payments with Duck Creek’s trusted insurance platform, so insurers can enhance how they work — without having to overhaul everything they already rely on.”
Duck Creek Technologies chief payments officer Allan Lacoste said, “Partnering with Zelis is a pivotal step in our mission to empower carriers with agile, end-to-end core insurance solutions. By integrating ZAPP into Duck Creek Orchestrator and Payment Marketplace we’re giving customers access to a wider range of payment methods and greater control over their payment processes while enabling faster implementation timelines.”
