Amanda Crawford steps into the role of Texas insurance commissioner on February 3.
Crawford graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and earned her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
Gov. Greg Abbott appointed Crawford to replace Cassie Brown, who retired on February 2 after four years as insurance commissioner and more than 20 years of public service.
