Specialty Program Group (SPG), a leading insurance specialty and wholesale brokerage, has announced a new partnership with Vertafore, a top provider of InsurTech solutions. The collaboration is aimed at enhancing digital experiences for SPG’s retail agencies and improving operational efficiency across its partner network.
SPG sought a flexible, configurable platform to accelerate quoting, streamline underwriting, and meet the growing digital demands of retail agents. The firm required a solution that would integrate seamlessly with its existing core systems — AIM™ and ImageRight® — while providing a foundation for future AI-powered enhancements.
Vertafore’s Surefyre™ platform, an AI-enabled, low-code/no-code agent portal and underwriting workbench, was selected to meet these needs. Designed specifically for MGAs and wholesalers, Surefyre streamlines applications, rating, and quoting for property and casualty (P&C) business across multiple systems. The platform increases efficiency and allows teams to focus on the most profitable opportunities. Users have reported up to 2.5 hours of time savings per policy issued.
Future enhancements to Surefyre include AI-driven tools such as a PDF-to-webform conversion feature launching later this year, and AI-powered ingestion of unstructured submissions data planned for 2026. These updates are intended to further simplify submission processes and optimize risk selection.
By adopting Surefyre, SPG gains a scalable, integrated platform that supports its long-term growth and AI initiatives. The technology allows teams to work more efficiently and provides a more seamless experience for retail agencies and clients.
“Working with Vertafore has given us the power to build a true technology ecosystem that can simplify complex processes, remove friction for our teams, and create a better experience for our clients,” said Maryellen Dolan, chief operating officer at SPG. “Adding Surefyre is the next step in creating a platform that will scale with us. And what stands out to us is that Vertafore isn’t just a technology provider, they’re a partner invested in our long-term success.”
Elizabeth Thimme, vice president of digital strategy and implementation at SPG, emphasized the importance of AI in the company’s technology strategy. “As we looked to the future of our operations, AI was a key factor in our technology decision,” she said. “Surefyre not only simplifies submissions today, it gives us confidence that we’ll be ready for new efficiencies powered by AI in the years ahead.”
Emily McGinn, general manager of MGA and wholesale at Vertafore, highlighted the broader impact of the partnership. “Our partnership with SPG shows what’s possible when technology and market leaders invest in the future together,” McGinn said. “Surefyre, AIM and ImageRight will enable SPG to accelerate its operations today and to take full advantage of Vertafore’s AI innovation leadership to work faster, smarter, and with more confidence.”
