The Committee has issued a call for evidence for its London Market inquiry, which will focus on commercial and wholesale specialty risks.
The inquiry's goal is to "investigate the extent to which regulatory policy is well-designed and proportionately applied, as well as the possibilities for optimizing policy following Brexit."
It will examine the roles of the Bank of England and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), as well as the appropriateness of regulation in light of the risks posed by the London market. This includes both the content of regulations as well as their implementation and application.
Furthermore, the Committee will assess the impact of regulation on customer interests as well as the market's global competitiveness.
The Industry and Regulators Committee's role is to examine industry-related issues, such as the government's policies to promote industrial growth, skills, and competitiveness, as well as to scrutinize the work of UK regulators.
The written submission deadline is Friday, February 11th, 2022.
