USQRisk hires new head of Casualty

USQRisk, the international managing general agent specializing in alternative risk transfer solutions, today welcomes Alex Chen as Head of U.S. Pricing and Senior Underwriter. Chen will be involved in USQRisk’s underwriting of alternative risk transfer solutions globally and will be leading the pricing of the MGA’s US deals. Additionally, Chen will work alongside the leadership team to develop new products and solutions to address the ever-changing risk landscape and evolving needs of clients.

“Alternative risk transfer solutions in the US market have been increasing in popularity as the need for specialized risk management continues to exceed what the traditional market can support. With that increased demand, the need for someone with strong actuarial and structuring experience has only grown as we develop custom (re)insurance solutions for our clients,” said Anibal Moreno, CEO of USQRisk. “Alex has demonstrated a keen ability to lead pricing for large (re)insurance portfolios and support respective teams to optimize portfolio management and strategy. Chen comes to USQRisk with nearly a decade of actuarial experience, during which time he was a pricing actuary for over $2 billion in products including those for general liability, workers’ compensation, commercial auto, environmental, excess liability, cyber, D&O and more. Chen has a master’s degree in actuarial science from Georgia State University.
