Ms. Martin has been chief risk officer at Zurich since she joined the company from Swiss Re in 2017. She will also be in charge of the insurer’s relationships with the banks which distribute its products.
Ms. Blanc left Zurich just eight months after joining. People who know the company pinned her departure on a clash of personality with chief executive Mario Greco.
Commenting on the appointment of Ms. Martin, Mr. Greco said: “Alison is perfectly suited for this role. She is an enthusiastic leader who combines industry expertise with the right mix of customer focus, people management and commercial experience.”
He added: “She knows our culture, she knows our business and is well suited to take our [Europe, Middle East and Africa] business to the next level.”
