Leadership Transition
During his tenure, Ross played a central role in expanding IICF’s impact. Under his leadership, the foundation awarded more than $53 million in grants to nonprofit partners in the United States and the United Kingdom. These grants supported children at risk, communities facing food and housing insecurity, disaster relief and recovery efforts, and other community-focused initiatives.
IICF recently established a new division in Canada, bringing its total to six divisions—four regional divisions in the U.S. and two international divisions in the U.K. and Canada. Through these divisions, more than 250 insurance industry companies work together to serve local communities.
The IICF Board of Governors and Member Companies expressed appreciation to Ross for his many years of service and leadership.
Executive Search and Strategic Review
To guide the next phase of leadership, IICF will form an Executive Search Committee to develop a CEO profile and engage an executive search firm. This process will include identifying both internal and external candidates. The final candidate or candidates will be presented to the IICF Board of Governors for approval.
During the transition period, Wendy Houser, Chair of the IICF Board of Governors and President, U.S. Wholesale and Specialty at Markel, will oversee foundation operations alongside her responsibilities at Markel.
Additionally, a Special Committee of current and past IICF board leaders will conduct a comprehensive review of the foundation’s mission and operations. The committee will assess and refresh the organization’s strategic direction to ensure alignment with the needs of the insurance industry and community partners. Stakeholders will be invited to provide input during this process.
Continued Commitment to Transparency and Service
The IICF and its committees emphasized their commitment to transparency throughout the leadership transition and strategic review. The foundation expressed appreciation for the ongoing support of board companies, industry partners, insurance professionals, and other contributors as it continues to serve communities during this transition period.
