Brooke VanHoutan understands the stresses business owners face from firsthand experience. The new Producer in Lockton's Kansas City office used to own a Shelter Insurance agency before helping companies mitigate their risk. Prior to joining Lockton, VanHoutan focused on clients in the human and social service space with Connell Insurance. This included nonprofits and health care organizations. She understood that these businesses provided essential services to those with developmental and intellectual disabilities, but also knew they faced tough regulations. Through her diligence in keeping up with the latest market trends and changes to legislation, she was able to help clients capture capital through structuring insurance programs.

She is a graduate of Missouri Southern State University and has been a member of Rotary International.
