The Inclusion Champion Award celebrates leaders in the insurance industry who have shown a deep commitment to the advancement of women and diversity of all kinds in the field. An Inclusion Champion is recognized by their colleagues and industry professionals for their talent development, mentorship and sponsoring of women, and influence on others within and outside of their organization. They are recognized for their efforts to advocate for women and diversity, as well as for a personal commitment to community service. IICF will honor two winners, one woman and one man, at the Women in Insurance Global Conference Dinner on Thursday, June 13.

“Honoring two stand-out industry professionals with this award is always a highlight of the Women in Insurance Global Conference,” said Elizabeth Myatt, IICF Women in Insurance Global Conference chair and executive director of the IICF Northeast Division. “The candidate pool is very competitive–filled with a multitude of qualified individuals who strive every day to promote diversity and inclusion within the insurance industry. We are looking forward to presenting the award this year to one female and one male representative of the industry who have demonstrated through their actions their exceptional commitments to diversity in insurance.”

IICF introduced its award for advancing diversity in the industry at the first Women in Insurance Global Conference in 2013, naming Pina Albo, now CEO of Hamilton Insurance Group, as its inaugural award recipient.

New to this year’s conference, the Association of Professional Insurance Women (APIW) will be

presenting the 2019 APIW Insurance Woman of the Year award at a cocktail reception and award ceremony on Wednesday, June 12. This year’s Women in Insurance Global Conference will take place at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel and will feature Kate White, former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine, among a slate of renowned leaders from a variety of professional backgrounds fostering conversations related to diversity, inclusion and leadership. IICF anticipates an audience of 750 insurance industry professionals poised to discuss gender equity in a changing world, the theme of this year’s conference.

Nomination forms for the 2019 Inclusion Champion Award can be found at http://womensconference.iicf.org/award.html. Anyone in the insurance industry can submit nominations.
