"With the torrid pace of global commerce continuing to bring about new and evolving risks, Andy's broad experience and deep understanding of the marine business is a tremendous asset to Alliant," said John Ludwig, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Alliant's Energy and Marine Group. "His arrival adds breadth and depth to our already strong marine practice and expands our reach in key strategic markets."
As one of the region's leading marine insurance professionals, Lewis joins Alliant with an expertise as broad and multifaceted as the marine business itself, spanning tug and barge, marine construction, pilot liability, cargo/stock throughput, blue water shipping, ports and terminals, and renewable energy. Prior to joining Alliant, he was Vice President with a Portland-based insurance brokerage firm servicing a large portfolio of marine clients.
An industry expert, dedicated philanthropist, and former college athlete, Lewis holds bachelor's degrees in economics and history from the University of Washington, where he was a member of the Huskies' 2001 Rose Bowl champion football team. He is past president of the Maritime Commerce Club and a board member with Friends of the Children, a local charity focusing on at-risk youth.
Lewis can be reached in Alliant's Portland office at (503) 471-1320 or at Andy.Lewis@alliant.com.
