Based in the brokerage’s Philadelphia office, Mr. Moyer will be responsible for a dedicated team of five people located in various parts of the U.S., as well as more than a dozen additional risk professionals with extensive credentials in the nuclear industry. He joined Marsh in 2003, after eight years of service in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear submarine officer. He holds a B.S. degree in Engineering Science from Penn State University, an M.B.A. degree from San Diego State University, and the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) professional designation.

"For more than four decades Marsh has been the leader in providing risk and insurance services for all segments of the nuclear power industry," said James R. Pierce, Jr., a managing director who oversees all of the firm's energy operations, including its Global Marine & Energy and Power & Utilities practices. "Now, with a global emphasis on developing alternatives to carbon-based energy sources, U.S. utilities are turning to the nuclear energy option in what amounts to a renaissance of this industry. Our goal is to support them as they evaluate and manage the complex risks associated with facility design, development, construction, operation, and safety. The Nuclear Center of Excellence under Shannon's leadership will enhance our ability to marshal resources to respond swiftly and effectively to client needs anywhere in the U.S.," he added.
