Under the pledge, companies will scrutinize the risks caused by climate change and support the cause of climate protection, Munich Re said in a statement.
ClimateWise’s objective is to do everything from reducing the environmental impact of their own businesses to rewarding customers for cutting their greenhouse gas emissions. According to their mission, the group of insurance industry members who started ClimateWise, “they will lead the way in analyzing and reducing risks; support climate awareness amongst our customers; incorporate climate change into our investment strategies; inform and engage in public policy debate; and reduce the environmental impact of our businesses.
