Using the benefits app, consumers can start a short-term disability claim, update personal data, and check on the status of a claim, including payment information. The app also features definitions and benefits details to help customers navigate through the claims process.
"Our focus on ability, not limitations, has driven our pioneering approach to disability insurance for more than two decades," said John Urankar, senior vice president of group benefits and workers' compensation claims for The Hartford. "This app is our latest resource to empower consumers and help them return to an active, productive life after an unexpected injury or illness."
The benefits mobile app is part of The Hartford's ongoing effort to offer digital service, education, and enrollment to its customers. In 2014, the employee benefits provider launched Your VoiceSM - a way for customers to rate its disability claims service and share their feedback online. The Hartford's claims team considers each person's diagnosis and combines experienced staff with proprietary analytics to provide customized care.
The "My Benefits" app is available for free download from the Apple® App StoreSM or Google PlayTM Store. In addition, consumers can file and track a disability claim over the phone or online at The Hartford at Work website (https://www.thehartfordatwork.com/thaw/).
