Travelers to Offer Roadside Assistance Discount in MA

Travelers of Massachusetts announced yesterday that it will be offering a Roadside Assistance Program Discount of four percent to its automobile insurance customers as a part of an update to the company's filing with the Massachusetts Department of Insurance.

If approved by the Department, the discounts will be available April 1, 2008 when the "managed competition" program takes effect. This discount comes in addition to the other product features and reduced rates such as a 10 percent discount for Hybrid vehicle drivers, a Multiple Policy Discount (Auto, Home, Renters & Condo) and a Good Student Discount that Travelers of Massachusetts announced on November 19, 2007.

The Roadside Assistance Program Discount of four percent will be applied to specific physical damage coverage for all of a customer's vehicles covered by an approved Roadside Assistant Plan. The approved plans include AAA, Better World Club (Auto and Auto + Bike Members), Cross Country Automotive Services (Driver's Elite and Driver's Premier) and Paragon Motor Club Roadside Assistance.

"Being a member of a roadside assistance program is something that our customers clearly value," said Dick Welch, president and CEO of Travelers of Massachusetts. "By offering this discount, Travelers of Massachusetts is rewarding them for taking this proactive approach to owning and maintaining their cars."

Also included in this latest revision of its filing, Travelers of Massachusetts will offer a Pay-In-Full Discount of two percent to all coverage on policies where payment of the full policy premium is processed using Travelers of Massachusetts' electronic agency payment tool on or before the effective date of the policy and the named insured has not had their motor vehicle insurance coverage canceled for non-payment of premium within the 24 months preceding the effective date of the policy.
